In the new age of COVID-19 and what will be a new way of looking at the world post-COVID Herkimer College is looking at a bright new future when it comes to protecting their students and staff.
After careful thought and consideration, 27 of 30 SUNY Community Colleges that are members of the National Junior College Athletic Conference, have decided to cancel indoor sports that are considered high risk for COVID-19 exposure.
The college says it placed safety protocols in place, and used rapid result coronavirus testing as students came to camp to check-in to on-campus housing units.
With the Coronavirus Pandemic shutting down the academic world colleges, high schools and universities around the country have had to make the difficult decision to cancel or postpone commencement ceremonies. Herkimer College is hosting a virtual commencement on Friday.
