Utica Man Arrested For 2007 Crime Also Faces Charges Of Desertion From US Army

Oriskany, NY (WIBX) - A Utica man is being held at the Oneida County Jail for a crime he committed six years ago.

Twenty-four year old Andrew VanMarter was 18 when he allegedly committed a sex crime.

The District Attorney is working on the case, and the United States Army is now charging VanMarter with desertion.

The victim has been offered counseling through the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.
