A Utica teen is under arrest following an investigation by the Oneida County Sheriff's Office and The Child Advocacy Center.

17-year-old Jihad Muhammed was taken into custody by Oneida County Sheriff's Office Investigator Melissa Bolton. The arrest stemmed from an investigation into an incident that occurred back in April of 2016. The victim was a female child under the age of 17.

Muhammed was held at the Utica Police Department pending arraignment in Utica City Court. An Order of Protection on behalf of the Victim, will be requested through the court. The Victim has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center.

Muhammed was charged with Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, a Class B Felony and Use of Child in a Sexual Performance, a Class C Felony.
