Four Charged In Frankfort Asbestos Dumping Scheme
Frankfort, NY (WIBX) - Four men face federal allegations for allegedly dumping 60 million pounds of asbestos contaminated material at a Frankfort farm.
A federal indicment names two local men, Julius DeSimone, 69, of Rome and Cross Nicastro II, 59, of Frankfort, and two out of state men - Donald Torriero, 54, of Florida and Dominick Mazza, 60, from New Jersey.
The group faces charges ranging from conspiracy to defraud the United States, violating the Clean Water Act and Superfund laws and wire fraud.
The Justice Department says the indictment is related to guilty pleas entered by Jonathon Deck and Eagle Recycling in 2009 and 2011.
All four are scheduled to be arraigned in Syracuse later this month.
